What is Culture Games?
A bridge between heritage and board games... without yawns
Imagine opening a box of cards and, instead of dragons or fictional civilizations, you find brotherhood members, medieval betrayals, and popular festivals that have truly marked the history of a town.
That's Culture Games: an independent publisher that transforms local Spanish culture into fun, dynamic, and, above all, very lively card games.
Who is behind Culture Games?
We are Eva, a heritage restorer, and Marcos, a creative director. Two very different people, but with a common passion: board games and the stories that make us who we are.
Cultural games are born from this mix: historical rigor and a love for playfulness. Our goal is not to "teach" like in a boring class, but to make people experience heritage firsthand. And if they laugh, compete, are surprised, or even get competitive... all the better.
What kind of games do we make?
We make cultural card games, yes. But none of that "choose the correct date" or "answer this question to advance" stuff.
Here you'll find betrayals, moral decisions, historical figures, real conflicts, and many surprises. History isn't the backdrop: it's the game mechanic.
Main titles:
- El Santo Encuentro – A game based on Holy Week in Barbastro. Can you coordinate the most emblematic procession of Alto Aragón without dropping the float (or your nerves)?
- BETRAYAL: The Last Vote – A narrative escape room in card format, set during the Alfonsadas of Calatayud. Rumors, alliances, traitors, and a vote that changes everything.
Both games are designed for both players and non-players to enjoy, learn something new, and —this is key— truly have fun.
Why mix culture and play?
Because we believe that heritage doesn't have to be serious, locked in a display case, or explained with a documentary voice.
Festivals, myths, characters, customs... all of that can be played, shared, and rediscovered in a group, at home, with family, or among colleagues.
Cultural Games is our way of saying:
"Culture can also come in cards. And it's cool."
Who is this for?
- For those who like history but can't stand long, boring texts.
- For those who want to rediscover their town with new eyes.
- For teachers, guides, families, geeks, and the curious.
- For stores, city councils, and organizations that want to display their heritage in a different way.
Will you join the game?
We are open to ideas, collaboration proposals, festivals that deserve their own game, and people who believe —like us— that culture doesn't have to be solemn to be valuable.

If you just say "hi," that works too. 😉
