The Expansion of El Santo Encuentro: A Journey Across Spain

Holy Week is experienced differently in Calanda than in Zamora, in Seville than in Bilbao... and that's what's fascinating.
Since we launched El Santo Encuentro, we knew we were just scratching the surface of one of the most vibrant, complex, and exciting traditions in our culture. And that's why... we're going further!

We are working on an official expansion for the game that will be released in the coming months. But it won't be a simple "add-on": it will be a playable celebration of the diversity of Holy Weeks in Spain. More than 50 curiosities, anecdotes, and symbols from north to south, from east to west.

We have delved into the drums of Calanda, lost ourselves among the processions of Valladolid, cried with the silences of Zamora, and marveled at the devotion of Seville.
And yes, all of this will be illustrated, played, and told as we know how to do it at Culture Games: with emotion, with humor... and with respect for what each community lives with such pride.

What will this expansion include?

  • New illustrated cards with real anecdotes, legends, and unique rituals.

  • Brotherhoods, images, characters, and moments that only happen in one city in the world.

  • New mechanics and game modes to increase replayability.

  • Access to extra digital content to continue exploring beyond the tabletop.

  • And yes... some "sonic" surprise that will make the tables resonate.

Why this expansion?

Because El Santo Encuentro was just the beginning. We want this game to continue growing as traditions do: by word of mouth, from town to town, from generation to generation.
We want players to feel that their Holy Week is also represented. That they can say: "Look, this happens in my town!" and share it with friends and family.

When will it arrive?

We are perfecting every detail, card by card, story by story. But we can anticipate that it will be available before the next Lent.
And as always, we will take it from fair to fair, from brotherhood to brotherhood, personally telling everyone what's coming.

Because we believe that heritage is not only protected: it is played, celebrated, and shared.
